Reporting to the Director of Certification Services and Communications, the Manager of Certification Services and Communications provides support in building and implementing education and certification programs. This position serves as the lead staff person to committees with esteemed surgeons. In addition to program development, this role will contribute to the overall communication processes of the organization.
Assists in online content on the organizations website.
Writes informational online messages to communities of interest
Aids in the development and execution of the organization’s strategic communications plan.
Manages Certification Program applications.
Answers incoming inquiries related to examination applications.
Assists Director of Certification Services and Communications in collaboration with vendors to administer certification examination.
Ensure all data is accurate and all policies are properly implemented and executed.
Serves as a resource for Diplomates, Candidates, vendors, the public and the staff.
Supports and collaborates with the ABOMS staff to implement and achieve procedural success of each examination.
Under the supervision of the Director, Certification Programs Services and Communication, ensure the computer based testing (CBT) policies and procedures are accurate and up to date.
Assists in the development of online certification programs.
Serves as the liaison to the CBT board committee.
Provides staff support for assigned Examination Committee, Board of Directors and Ad-hoc Committees.
Assists in planning and implementing Oral Certifying Examination (OCE) projects.
Provides Program support with financial status, projections and information as needed.
Provides oversight and support for all meeting management activities.

A bachelor's degree is required.
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience ideally in an association or certifying organization.
Experience in prioritizing, managing and coordinating multiple projects concurrently.
Experience in effective decision making and customer service.
Experience in a team environment.

Strong attention to detail.
Highly developed and effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
