The Senior Manager of Education and Professional Development will participate in creating and driving the education and professional development strategy for the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) through multiple delivery vehicles for a variety of audiences. A dynamic and nimble approach focused on advancing the electronic payments industry will be required to provide the kinds of relevant and cutting-edge offerings that will attract and retain participants, grow market share, and generate new revenue.
The core responsibilities of this role center around delivering the credentialing and educational products for ETA. These products include the ETA Certified Payments Professional (ETA CPP) certification program, which sets the standard for professional performance in the payments industry, as well as ETA University, which includes introductory, credentialing and specialized courses on strategic issues and developments.
Contribute to the development and management of a multi-year knowledge and learning strategy and annual business plan for ETA’s professional development offerings that recognizes the need to manage Education as a business for ETA and is built on timely content and state of the art delivery.
Oversee program design and evaluation and initiate changes in current programs to ensure that both participant learning needs and revenue goals are met or exceeded, and that the learning experiences are professional in quality and impact.
Stay abreast of both industry trends and developments in adult learning practice (including platforms through which knowledge and learning is disseminated) to ensure ETA programs deliver timely and relevant content.
Revitalize and expand ETA’s industry credentialing programs, including a fresh approach to packaging and targeting new audiences within each member company.
Work in concert with volunteers, staff and consultants to develop and execute educational offerings; and relevant ETA committees as identified.
With the overall learning strategy as a backdrop, develop and manage all aspects of educational content delivery in the Education program, including working with Industry Affairs to identify and provide relevant and dynamic content and packaging.
Work across the organization to ensure alignment with ETA’s overall strategy and industry issues.
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
At least 3-5 years of experience in professional society or trade association education/credentialing with specific skills in eliciting volunteer collaboration.
Demonstrated skills and success in project management.
High energy level and enthusiasm; positive, can-do attitude; adaptable to change.
Solid communication skills, including the ability to be effective orally and in writing with both executive level stakeholders and with team members.
Experience developing and growing professional education and credentialing programs as revenue-producing business lines, with a track record of success.
Knowledge of best practice in adult learning, education program design, development and evaluation, as well as distance learning.
Experience in establishing and maintaining partnerships with service providers and vendors.
