The National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) is accepting applications for the full-time position of Director of Development. The Director of Development works under the supervision of the Executive Director and is responsible for directing the fundraising effort, with a focus on sustaining current corporate and foundation sponsorships while cultivating new corporate, foundation, and individual giving opportunities. Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.
A minimum of five years’ of relevant work experience at the national
Proven successful fundraising experience, national in scope, including corporate, foundation, and individual giving programs.
Ability to articulate case for encouraging interest in NAESP to corporate partners, volunteers, and the general public.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required: Applicant must have strong people and professional skills. The applicant must be able to strategize, organize and plan. The applicant must possess superior writing, presentation, and communication skills and be familiar with grant/proposal drafting. Applicant must possess ability to excel in a team setting and flexibility to ensure completion of team goals. The applicant is expected to fulfill the following scope of work to achieve goals on behalf of NAESP:
Cultivate partnerships with the business, association, research and foundation communities to generate revenue that will advance NAESP's mission and
Build and manage a strategic special projects portfolio working with corporate and foundational supporters to bolster NAESP's initiatives.
Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential NAESP Business Partners through written correspondence, telephone conversations, and face-to-face meetings.
Craft development communication pieces that appeal to a wide variety of audiences.
