The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) is seeking a sales and customer service oriented professional to fill its Sponsorship Coordinator position. This position will support the sponsorship team fulfill sponsor and exhibitor expectations, maintain existing relationships and identify and cultivate new prospects. Attention to detail, accuracy in tracking and reporting, and coordinating with other departments within the organization are primary functions for this position.
Maintain exemplary customer service, including identifying customer needs, asking relevant questions, seeking the answer from other staff when outside your scope, and most importantly ensuring a professional, thorough, and timely response.
Manage fulfillment of sponsor and exhibitor services, including all administrative duties related to database record maintenance and accurate reporting.
Accurately track and report all sponsor commitments, invoices, deliverables and budget goals.
Manage all aspects related to Accounts Receivable – from invoicing to collections.
Maintain and update sponsor prospect database.
Assist the sponsorship team to develop prospecting opportunities by researching and/or analyzing economic development industry segments and competing/complimentary events.
Develop deep relationships with customers and prospects through continuous communication and relationship building throughout the year.
Coordinate with the conference team on conference logistics for sponsors and exhibitors and serve as the point of contact for trade show logistics.
Ensure that sponsors and exhibitors receive appropriate recognition and are excited about sponsoring/exhibiting in the future.
All other tasks and projects provided by supervisor.
Experience & Qualifications:
Exceptional communication skills – presentation, verbal and written.
Previous sales or fundraising experience in a nonprofit or association environment.
Previous experience that demonstrates a high attention to detail.
Experience using a database, Microsoft Excel and other online tools to ensure proper tracking and reporting.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Ability to travel to IEDC’s three out-of-town conferences.
Desire to raise the bar – not satisfied with average.
Comfortable and confident in sales/fundraising role.

Strong desire to work with others – willingness to serve.
Wisdom to not over promise.
Flexible – able to work effectively in fast-paced environment with multiple demands.
